The living spaces

Setting the tone for what’s to come, the house opens with a splash of bright teal tiles – before giving way to leopard carpets and sweeping herringbone floors. Crittall windows frame the landscaped grounds, flooding interiors with light and adding a punchy industrial edge. There’s space for all to rest and recharge, from a double reception room finished with jewel tones, boucle furniture and gilded lighting, to the atmospheric cinema, made for immersive film nights.

Kitchen & dining

The kitchen dials up the drama. Sleek black marble wraps every surface, including a large waterfall island that centres the space. Sculptural lighting and a large metal range oven gleam against the backdrop. Just beyond, a teal marble dining table sits beneath a theatrical chandelier. With 20 seats and a grand piano set just behind, it’s tailor-made for entertaining. For nightcaps, a hidden door in the bookcase reveals the secret, sound-proofed bar: expect gilded accents, plush stools and an enviable drinks collection.

Seven bedrooms turn sleep into spectacle. The indulgent principal suite pairs garden views with a spa-grade en suite, featuring marble walls, a double rainfall shower and a freestanding bath. Elsewhere, themes sharpen – from the striking zebra-stripes of the Black and White Room to the delightfully uplifting tones in the Pink Room. An annexe with a smoky blue palette and an in-room freestanding bathtub offers ultimate privacy.

From here, it’s a short drive to Daylesford’s farm-to-fork restaurant, organic shop and luxury Bamford spa. Or venture to Soho Farmhouse for famed wellness offerings, before drinks at Hawkstone Brewery.

Slight further afield, village-hop between picture-perfect Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway and Stow-on-the-Wold. A short trip to Woodstock reveals the grandeur of Blenheim Palace and its expansive grounds. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to fine dining, too – from The Wild Rabbit in Kingham, to The Double Red Duke in Clanfield and The Chequers in Chipping Norton itself.
