A choice of inviting lounges awaits, each curated with its own mood and palette. In one, decorative tapestries, bronze sculptures and collected objets d’art infuse the room with character, while classic English roll-arm sofas gather around the fireplace. In another, deep leather armchairs invite you to sink in for a film night or an unhurried afternoon with a good page-turner – selected from the bookshelves that frame the television.

The living spaces
Kitchen & dining
Beneath timber beams and above reddish stone floors, the open-plan kitchen and breakfast room feels warm, tactile and convivial. A marble-topped island anchors the space, framed by denim-blue cabinetry and vibrant wall art. The Aga, nestled under an arched wooden lintel, keeps things cosy year-round – a timeless emblem of English countryside lifestyle.
Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the breakfast table in sunlight. In warmer months, throw open the glass doors to connect the indoors with the terrace, where a wooden veranda shelters an alfresco dining set. In the formal dining room, deep red walls, heirloom oil portraits and crisp panelling set a tone of grandeur. The polished wood table catches soft light through lattice windows, while heavy curtains lend intimacy as evening falls.
Bedrooms & bathrooms
Each of the five king-sized bedrooms evokes storybook charm, finished with intricate woodwork, antique furnishings and a mix of four-poster and cast-iron beds. Tapestries and period details weave a narrative of comfort and timelessness. Three bedrooms feature en suites, where vaulted ceilings and exposed beams lend rustic tranquillity. Freestanding bathtubs, marble-topped vanities and walk-in showers complete these serene, evocative retreats.
Outdoor space
Wellbrook Farm remains cocooned in privacy, enclosed by high hedgerows and mature trees. In one of the pristine lawns, sculpted topiary and classical statuary afford a sense of quiet order. In another lawn, there’s a stone patio set beneath a timber veranda – an idyllic spot for al fresco dining.
The Annexe
Available as an add-on, this one-bedroom bolthole is perfect for larger parties and guests seeking more privacy. This renovated farm building offers soaring vaulted ceilings and exposed brickwork, softened with contemporary furnishings and wall art.
The neighbourhood
At the heart of Broadwell sits a sprawling village green, with just a few honeystone dwellings and a stream surrounding it. Despite its tranquil seclusion, Wellbrook Farm has fantastic proximity to some of the Cotswold’s most charming offerings. Stow-on-the-Wold is a five-minute drive away, a town famed for its antiques shops and cosy tearooms. Tolkien fans will appreciate the north porch of St. Edward’s Church, which served as inspiration for the Doors of Durin.
Venture down further and you’re in Bourton-on-the-Water – known as Venice of the Cotswolds – with its five wide bridges that carry over the glittering river. If you like vintage cars, the Motoring Museum is worth a visit, while Birdland is home to over 130 exotic and rare species, ideal for days out with youngsters.
Also a few minutes’ drive away, Daylesford is set with a huge organic shop and farm-to-fork restaurant, plus Bamford Spa for a variety of wellness offerings. Take a walk through the bridleways to reach the little village of Lower Oddington – The Fox is a beautifully refurbished 19th-century inn, serving seasonal gastropub fare. For more fine dining, head into Cheltenham for Le Champignon Sauvage, Prithvi and Lumière.
