In the south-facing open-plan living area, there’s unparalleled connectivity with the gardens outside. On either side of the space, floor-to-ceiling glass-fronted extensions flood the interior with natural light and offer a tranquil, countryside backdrop that changes throughout the seasons. Positioned in both sets of windows, there are inviting lounges with elegant sofas and fireplaces – perfect for morning coffees, afternoon teas and curling up with a page-turner, sourced from the home library set along one of the walls. For anyone needing a quiet space for home-working, there’s a study overlooking the gardens.
Architectural finesse, eclectic patterns and a sculpture garden breathe contemporary finesse into this six-bedroom Cotswolds manor house.
As much a gallery as it is a getaway, Tewfield Manor is where rural heritage meets creative modernity.
This secluded home is alive with contrast – sleek architectural lines set against a mix of eclectic antiques and contemporary sculpture by homeowner and artist David Williams-Ellis. Beyond its striking interiors, Tewfield Manor unfolds into 13 acres of landscaped grounds and farmland on all four sides – with a tennis court, children’s playground and outdoor dining terrace imagined for the whole family.

The living spaces
Kitchen & dining
With whitewashed cabinets, smooth worktops and an array of hi-tech integrated appliances, the kitchen has a thoroughly contemporary feel. Positioned between two separate islands, there’s a breakfast table accompanied by green leather chairs. A more formal dining area lies beyond, seating 20 for convivial lunches and elegant dinner parties.
Bedrooms & bathrooms
From the entrance hallway, a sweeping architectural staircase curves upwards to the first-floor bedrooms. The principal bedroom suite is all pale tones, soft carpets and softly-diffused natural light through a series of large windows. An inviting bed, crafted with a floral upholstered headboard, sits against a half wall – behind which is the outstanding en suite bathroom. There’s a spa-like ambiance here, with sunlight pouring in and illuminating the artful bathtub and sleek shower.
Playful interior design comes to the fore in the other guest bedrooms, all crafted with individual palettes and materials. In one, a pinkscale colour scheme adds an uplifting feel; in another, a blue and gold decorative bedframe captures attention. Uniting them all: warm lighting, eclectic fabrics and far-reaching views across the rolling hills.
Outdoor space
Tewfield Manor is embraced by expansive gardens and established trees, putting you entirely at one with nature. Just outside of the main living area, a dining patio is perfect for warm-weather entertaining. The artistic touch expands far beyond the house. Topiary-lined avenues lead to open plains and grassy mounds, where sculptures by David Williams-Ellis stand boldly against the landscape. Venture further and you’ll find a large tennis court and kid’s playground, keeping everyone entertained.
