Exposed materials and statement colours. Seamless dialogue between light and shadow. Double-aspect living spaces. These are just a few of the expertly-considered details from architecture studio Teatum + Teatum – the design virtuosos behind Grove Mews.

Ascend the stairs to the open-plan living room and kitchen – note how angular forms and sinuous lines create a sense of rhythm across the space. The vermillion-red concrete floors are a dramatic contrast to the blonde wood joinery that creates vertical and horizontal flow from the fitted shelving to the kitchen cabinetry. Preparing food on the sleek dusty-pink surfaces is at once fuss-free and stylish; enjoy meals in the light-filled space, courtesy of the double-height gallery level and triple-aspect windows.

There’s effortless fluidity between the rooms, with respect for individual privacy; a laser cut steel bridge leads to the mezzanine bedroom – which can double as a study – without obstructing the natural light. Slide open the doors to the south-facing roof terrace, your own private suntrap come warmer months.

Downstairs, the master suite is defined by its statement green colour palette. In the daytime, light filters through shuttered windows for an environment that is at once soothing and uplifting; at night, the room is luxuriously serene. Raw materials – a wall of wood wainscoting and smooth concrete floors – showcase a stylish industrialism. Its en-suite bathroom features a walk-in shower and pink wall hung basin, enhanced by gold faucets. A further en-suite bedroom boasts a dichromatic white and burnt-orange design, remaining true to the aesthetic flair of the home.
